This class provided an alternative view of history from the grassroots level, focusing on real people and the impact their efforts had on our society today.  There was less of an emphasis on how presidents and politicians signed bills into law and more of an emphasis on the people that sparked the change that made that bill a reality.  It shows that everyone has the ability to make a difference and America was made by people that often go unrecognized. The Final Project allowed me to dig deeper into the real lives of immigrants in the United States and highlight their triumphs and challenges.
