In conclusion, throughout my ePortfolio, I have provided you with a brief reflection of my work that has been completed in my ENGL-400 class. My assignments are presented in order from a brief description of myself and my studies here at Longwood University and the purpose of the ePortfolio and course learning outcomes. These can be found on my homepage. Next, I provided you with five journal entries completed throughout the semester, where I did a brief reflection of how it related to learning outcome #1 and #2. With my next page, the rhetorical analysis, I discussed some of the challenges I had in completing this assignment and how it contributes to my success as an active citizen in leadership. Lastly, the common good project page explained how many of the course learning outcomes were used and how it played a role in creating and developing the website Project Flashlight.
This course has given me the ability and knowledge on how to have a persuasive argument with an individual or an audience. It has also demonstrated to me many things concerning the way I think when having a conversation with an individual. This course will be beneficial to me in my subsequent career as a Board Certified Behavior Analysis (hint “analysis”). In behavior analysis, you have to study the behavior of a specific individual and think of solutions and ways to help them. Knowing the rhetorical tools given throughout this semester would assist me in providing a valuable argument on why I feel what I am saying would help that individual. Generally speaking, I see rhetorical tools used every day throughout many of my conversations with peers even when they do not recognize it. This class was by far a wonderful course to take because even I did not know how much I used a rhetorical tool in just bribing my parents for things. The knowledge that I take away from this course will allow me to progress in my future profession.
