The common good project was another big assignment that was completed during the semester. Dr. Guler split the class up into to groups of three, where I was able to work with two wonderful people name Abbie Preston and Charla Faulkner. During our first meeting, we were able to decide on the topic of mental health on college campuses, specifically Longwood. We focused primarily on providing resources to that community, so they would receive options to get help. This played a role in our common good title, which was the project flashlight. We all shared a common interest because in the future our career paths will lead us to work with individuals suffering from some sort of mental illness ( learning outcome #2 and #3). After completing the the common good project a rationale paper had to be submitted along with our website. In the rationale paper we were able to use the knowledge that was given to us throughout the semester ( rhetorical tools) and apply it to how we created our website (learning outcome #5).
