Sunday afternoon, October 26, Chris Swanson had his debut performance with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra as the conductor and artistic director. He conducted Les preludes by Franz Liszt, An American in Paris by George Gershwin and the “Eroica” Symphony by Beethoven. While it was Swanson’s first concert with the orchestra, the LSO has been around for 32 years. Swanson will return to the podium on December 6 at the Academy of Fine Arts where he will conduct music by Tchaikovsky and May 9 at EC Glass Auditorium where he will conduct music by Elgar and Mussorgsky.
