During our Professional Writing class, we were able to learn about how to properly write a bad news letter and also a persuasive letter. Learning how to write these two specific types of letters was very eye opening in my opinion. Learning about the two different letters was a wonderful way in which to satisfy the customers if it is possible and also how to properly do so with a letter. When looking at the course outcomes, there are two major outcomes that I believe the bad news letter and the persuasive letter fall into. The first outcome that I believe the bad news letter and persuasive letter fall into are; “Analyze and produce writing genres commonly found in the professional world (e.g. business, Gov., media). Another outcome that I believe the bad news letter and the persuasive letter falls into is; create professional documents that use plain English (clear, concise, and grammatically correct). While writing the bad news letter and the persuasive letter, we had to make sure that we used plain English throughout these two documents because they are addressing a certain issue. After conducting this project, I have used these techniques that I have learned about bad news and persuasive letters because I have had to write a bad news letter for work. I really liked conducting this specific project because it will always be applicable in the real world.
