Hello everyone! My name is Morgan Bohannon and I am currently a senior at Longwood University majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and also minoring in Special Education. I have been at Longwood University for the past two years. Even though I am finishing my undergraduate career here at Longwood, I actually started at Lynchburg College (LC). I decided to transfer to Longwood University because my career path changed and I was not able to pursue that specific career at LC. I transferred to Longwood in order to pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology. After graduation this May, I am actually staying at Longwood and obtaining my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. What made me choose speech therapy you ask? I had the opportunity to observe in a school system when I was deciding on what I wanted to make my career. I had the opportunity to observe the speech-language pathologist in the school and I fell absolutely in love with the profession ever since. I have always know that I wanted to work with children somehow in my career but I was never really sure how exactly I wanted to work with them. I have always had the opportunity to nanny multiple groups and types of children throughout the past several years and I have honestly enjoyed every single second of it.
The purpose of this specific ePortfolio is to show what exactly I have learned and worked on this past semester in my Professional Writing class. One component of the class that I believe that I have accomplished very well is developing a well-written resume. I knew a little about how to write resumes before I started this writing class but once we started learning about them in class, I was able to broaden my knowledge on resumes more than I could have ever expected to understand. The specific class activities that we have condoned in our profession writing course have all been assignments that are applicable to real life situations. Being able to learn more and improve on real life documents that I have a great possibility in using in my future career.
