Public speaking class was a really fun and different kind of class. My professor focused more on us actually doing speeches instead of talking about them which I really liked because it was us trying things and maybe failing, but we would learn from it. The class let people tell peoples opinions and stories unlike a normal class which was nice. For me I could kind of voice my experiences that I had and I learned that people have a lot in common, but don’t even know it.
I got to connect with people in the class because we were all saying stories or opinions on things and they were all different, but we enjoyed hearing everyone’s perspective. It also helped when we had to do most of our speeches online because of the pandemic though because it gave us a learning experience. Cause a lot of meetings in the modern age are probably gonna be online so I think it was really funny that even though it wasn’t planned for us to learn online, we had been able to extract something useful from it.
Artifact
I chose this as my artifact because it is a really simple demonstration speech that I did online and it was my first online speech. So it was a simple speech because I just had to demonstrate how to tie a tie, but it was challenging because I had to do it online while it was my first time doing an online speech. I think it is a great representation of what I learned while taking the class and how that even when things change we have to adapt to them the best we can.
