Rationale

Curriculum and instruction allows for the best practices and instruction to be used in the classroom to benefit student learning. Knowledge of curriculum and instruction was gained through many practicum experiences and planning experiences with different students. The modified lesson plan reflects the ability to “use foundational knowledge to design, select, critique, adapt, and evaluate evidence-based literacy curricula” for multiple ELL students (ILA 2.1). This was designed for a whole class with the proper differentiation included (ILA 2.2, 2.3). The emergent lesson plan was designed with the student’s needs in mind and tailored towards her abilities and schema (ILA 2.1, 2.2, 2.3). collaboration was done with the classroom teacher and my professor to determine the best approach for learning (ILA 2.4).
