Press Release

Reflection

A Press Release was something I had never heard of before taking this class. I quickly found out it is a professional document that is composed when a new product or service comes out.  In this particular document, it is  extremely important to use plain language because it is released for the public view. This letter is mostly made up of customer testimonials, and quotations on what they had to say about the new product or service mentioned in the press release. This professional document is also constructed in the same AIDA (attention, interest, desire, action) format that is used in persuasive letters. There should also be a short, memorable headline at the top of the page. This is very important because the headline is the first thing the audience will read. If the headline does not make the news sound interesting, consumers will not keep reading.  A press release is normally no longer than a page. It is very clear, concise, and to the point because that is what customers like when looking at news.
