Brochure

Reflection

Creating a brochure was something I’ve done in the past, but none of them were quite like this one. The formatting of the brochure was something I wasn’t familiar with and it took some getting used to. Our groups were given a layout example in class that stated which information goes in which panel. This template helped a lot when constructing the brochure, because the layout displayed online all on one page can be tricky. I learned the importance of a good color scheme when making a brochure, and how the colors used should be complementary colors, which are colors directly across from each other on the color wheel. This is where we got the blue and orange color scheme. Also, something that we could improve on is making the font consistent throughout, because it makes the brochure look more uniform and professional. Implementing pictures and graphics into a brochure are also crucial, for you will want to show off your product so consumers know exactly what they’re getting.  It is also helps the brochure appear more aesthetically pleasing, and prevents it from being too wordy. I learned that if a brochure is too wordy, people are most likely not going to read all the information, so making it as clear and concise as possible is the goal. Overall, this assignment really helped me learn how to formulate a brochure that is professional. It also taught me how to organize information, putting it in optimal placements for readability purposes.
