The brochure was a project that I worked on with my in-class partner, therefore I was able to work on outcome six, collaboration. We worked together to make sure we each did an equal amount of the work and that we each understood the important aspects of the assignment. This activity was also a demonstration of my knowledge of course outcome one. This is because I produced a piece of writing that is commonly found in professional writing, and analyzed how a brochure is an effective way to communicate information and ways to make the brochure more successful. I also showed my understanding of outcomes two and four by utilizing plain English throughout the brochure and using the proper layout, graphics, and design to make the brochure easy to read and functional. Overall, the brochure project allowed me to strengthen my overall professional writing skills and analyze proper professional communication and what makes a good document successful.
