Formal Report

The formal report was a large project in which my in-class partner and I really got to demonstrate our understanding of course outcome six, collaboration. We did this by, not only splitting up the work evenly and making sure we were on the same page about the impact of the project, but also by completing a work log of everything we did and meeting minutes for each of our meetings. These two extra steps caused us to stop and think about the collaboration. We had to fully analyze the tasks we were each completing, as well as the amount of work everything came out to. We also utilized outcomes one, two, and four by creating a commonly used professional document using plain English and proper design elements. This project is where course outcomes three and five were utilized the most. To address outcome three, we conducted a survey to collect data regarding the types of websites we were analyzing to produce the report. We had to use critical thinking skills to determine what kinds of questions were important to ask, to determine the results of the survey, and to put those results into context with the recommendations we made in our report. For outcome five, we presented our report and our final recommendations to the rest of the class. We used a PowerPoint and the original websites that we analyzed as visuals to demonstrate our thinking process.
