By the end of services, the group will create a positive coping plan for how to navigate pregnancy stressors at least twice a day.
Objectives:
- The group will identify common pregnancy stressors and how to intervene
- The group will learn, identify, and describe positive coping skills and behaviors
GOAL 2:
By the end of services, the group will demonstrate an adequate understanding of depression and anxiety by engaging in a 5 minute conversation with peers.

Lesson Plan
Purpose of Session
Discuss the importance of having a plan to incorporate coping skills into the participants’ daily schedule
Knowing when it is especially important to incorporate a coping plan
In high stress situations
When participants feel themselves growing stressed, irritable, etc.
Stations
First 20 minutes: Work on creating a coping plan that can be utilized after the completion of the psychoeducational groups
Second 20 minutes: Work in small groups of four to demonstrate an adequate of understanding of depression and anxiety
Discussion (10 minutes)
What was your experience like while completing the coping plan worksheet?
What did you take away from completing this exercise?
How did your conversations go with other group members?
What key takeaways were you able to observe through conversations with your groupmates?
Closing
Facilitators will ask if participants have any questions or concerns
