I had my dad and mom in my house hold growing up. My dad traveled for work and my mom was a substitute teacher. When my dad was home he would do yard work, like mowing the lawn or trimming/shaping the bushes in our front yard, he would also fix stuff around the house, from small things like changing the light bulbs, to big things like rebuilding our back deck. My mom would do some yard work with him like weeding or trimming the flowers. My mom would mostly do things like clean, cook, grocery shop, and help my sister and I get ready for school. My sister and I would take care of our dogs, help our mom clean, do dishes and put clean dishes away, we would also help my dad outside with whatever yard work he was doing.
I would say while growing up I saw a lot more gender patterns, but now that my dad works from home and my mom is a full time teacher my dad has picked up more of the household chores when my mom has to come home late. For the most part they split them up.
