Reflection

During this research project we worked with a diverse group of people. We worked with people from different cultural backgrounds, social classes, and race. Working with a diverse group of people allowed us to focus in on how to make the Family Fun Time Activities efficient for the families we were sending them to. We sent out five different Family Fun Time Activities to each home: included was a set of instructions, every material needed, and some extra parts to keep the activities going after they finished the ones we sent.

Originally, we sent out 50 surveys home with the children. We received back 20 surveys. The only way we were able to receive these 20 surveys back was to keep asking the two schools to ask and remind parents for them. A way we convinced parents to fill out the surveys was sending them out with children’s books. This seemed to work somewhat due to the amount we got before putting a small amount of pressure on the schools and parents to return the surveys to us.

Throughout this research project, I learned how to collect and survey data from surveys. I also learned how to properly create a survey. These skills will help me in future jobs due to the importance of collecting data that can be used for different research. I also learned how to use Rstudio and create graphs with excel.
