Throughout my semester in this course, I have learned how to calculate multiple different equations, how to use two statistical computer programs, and how to interpret my statistical findings from each equation. I learned how to recode my independent and dependent variables in both Rstudio and SPSS in order to have each function run correctly.
Even though we spent a good deal using our computers for this semester, we also learned how to calculate each statistical equation we learned by hand, as well as on Rstudio and SPSS. I also learned how to properly make an APA formatted table to showcase my data in a word document.
It was important for us to learn how to compute these different equations due to how we needed to use them to see the different levels of family involvement spent during each family fun time activity. Both Rstudio and SPSS were important computer programs to learn due to the chance that we could possibly have to use either one in our jobs after graduation.
Learning these different skills over the past semester was extremely important for us due to the possibility of any of us having to use any of these statistical equations, programs, or having to interpret the data given to you by a future employer.
Now that I have acquired these skills, I will be able to use them in the given future when needed. I will be able to hypothesize about a problem or issue and use the skills that I learned in this class to help me conduct research on the certain issue.
