My name is Sara Boyd. I am currently preparing for graduation in May 2022. I will be graduating with my bachelors in the science of social work from Longwood University. I believe that social work is a profession that allows human relationships to grow and prosper through connection to elicit positivity. In addition to being an undergraduate student, I am a member of Longwood University’s honor and conduct board. I have also been serving as Alpha Sigma Alpha Alpha Chapter’s Standards Chairman since the beginning of January 2022. I have completed 200+ hours of student internship at the Manassas Park Department of Social Services and 500+ hours of internship at the Counseling Alliance of Virginia.
I grew up in Stafford, Virginia. I am the 3rd child in a family of 8. I am someone who loves to train my dog, take care of my garden, and cook. The field of social work is a significant passion of mine. I believe that with good services and resources and with the stress of empowering and strengthening clients, social workers are currently and actively changing many people’s lives for the better. I have the drive to be a part of this profession and share my values of human connection and empathy with clients and my co-workers.
My professional goal is to obtain a degree in clinical social work and work as an LCSW therapist.
