Letter to Senior Self

Dear Tyler,

There was a lot you wished to accomplish before graduation plenty of burdens to carry along the way, copious amounts of work to be done and lastly, a Tyler Roebuck to be. No matter what you’ve accomplished and how many great things are going to be on that diploma, looking back are you proud of what you’ve done? Don’t think about mom or Nana or Papa or anyone else who you look up to, think about yourself. Are you proud of everything you’ve accomplished here at Longwood University. As a freshman Longwood was everything to you, and I’m sure it still is now. But have you done enough here to be remembered, impacted those around you in only positive ways. Be a light to those who you are about to graduate with, and show them that you are strong and supportive. But be proud of the Tyler that you’ve become. Show the world that even the worst circumstances in someones life can create the most beautiful of people. There is nothing that can stop you Tyler, no matter how big, you can conquer it if you just concentrate. Ask others for help, after all Longwood is the most supportive community you have ever been around. When you read this one day, write another one to your future self, say about 5 years from now. Keep checking in on yourself from time to time haha. It’ll be worth it I promise.

Sincerely,

Freshman year Tyler Roebuck
