- The dependent variable for this ANOVA was engagement of the child. This was asked on a 0-10 scale. The independent variable for this ANOVA was highest degree of education anyone has in the household.
- Respondents chose either, “Less than High School”, “High School”, “Some College”, “College degree or higher” or “Prefer not to answer”.
- The mean engagement for two-parent and single parent households was 6.5/9.5 out of 10.
- The mean engagement for multigenerational households was 8.2.
- According to the ANOVA results (F=2.0374) there is no significant different between these means.
- ßTherefore, household type does no influence child engagement.
