My Teacher Researcher Identity
My name is Kevin Andrew Gibson. I am a Senior at Longwood University working towards a degree in Primary Education with Science and Social Studies focuses. As a child I could not be more against going into the profession, despite my mother being a teacher. However, as my curiosity for learning grew throughout my college experience, I made the change in career avenues.
I struggled throughout school. This is what lead me to my research question: How can teachers and parents help students learn outside of school? Well, that’s how it started anyways. As someone who struggled, I wanted to dive into many various and new strategies for helping students once they leave school. I wondered just how I might help my future students.
