The InVEST in STEM Scholarship Program is available for students who will obtain secondary (grades 6-12) teaching certification in mathematics, chemistry, biology, or physics at Longwood University. All InVEST in STEM Scholars will:
- Major in mathematics, chemistry, biology, or physics
- Be seeking secondary (6-12) teaching certification at Longwood University
Application Requirements
A complete InVEST in STEM application must include:
- One letter of recommendation from a science or math teacher or professor that speaks to the candidate’s ability and desire to teach 6-12 grade math or science in high need school districts and overall professionalism in a classroom setting emailed to investinstem@longwood.edu.
- A copy of the candidate’s unofficial transcripts (including current courses) emailed to investinstem@longwood.edu.
- A submitted Longwood University application form (students applying for the InVEST in STEM program will have the $50 Longwood University application fee waived, for more information contact your university InVEST in STEM advisor) – click here

Deadline
InVEST in STEM Scholarship applications are considered on a rolling basis with review beginning on February 1.
