Other things!

When I am not teaching or doing research, I spend time with my wife, son and daughter. If I still have some extra time, I do birding, nature photography and paint some wildlife, especially birds.

My passion for birds and birding started when I was a thirteen year old boy in Sri Lanka. Since then I have been spending a lot of time watching birds, sketching and painting them, photographing them, reading about them and just thinking about them! I am a “lister” (keep lists of birds) and take way too many pictures of birds. Here is one of my favorites.

I also do watercolor paintings of wildlife, mainly birds and fish. Here are some samples for your enjoyment.
