SPAN 210

SPAN 210 is the intermediate level of Spanish for students who had no prior exposure to the language. Since I enjoyed my professor from SPAN 110 in the fall, I took her SPAN 210 course in the spring. This class was especially challenging for me throughout the entire semester because the majority of our grade was based on written or spoken group projects that were presented to the entire class. Previously, in SPAN 110, our grade was mainly based on quizzes and tests. However, the purpose of taking a Perspective level course at Longwood is to help students build their teamwork and communication skills, so there are always multiple group projects throughout the classes. Despite getting sent home for COVID in the middle of this course, my professor still helped us to navigate new territory as we transitioned to online learned. My favorite collaborative project was after we got sent home for COVID and we had to film a video of ourselves explaining what kind of luxury resort hotel we would build. It was a very unique project because after sharing that video with our classmates, we had to vote on which hotel we would buy and explain why. And, of course, all of this was in Spanish! Unfortunately, I do not have any of my videos or presentations to share because they were uploaded to a course website that I no longer have access to.
