This semester, I did my preliminary fieldwork hours at Healthy Innovations and Sportable. During Healthy Innovations, we helped children with disabilities reach their IEP goals and helped build communication skills. We did this every Friday for at least an hour in the Therapeutic Recreation lab at Longwood University. During my time at Sportable, I assisted with a wheelchair soccer tournament that was held at U-Turn Sportplex. In addition to the time at the tournament, I also helped with work in the office. This experience truly showed me what my future career would look like in the field of therapeutic recreation.
