The student absolutely loved Legos! We used the larger Legos to make word family towers, and the student was given time to build with them freely following the activity! I also incorporated Legos in free writing activities. After he built a piece that he was proud of, he would verbally tell me a story about it. While I wrote, he would work to “help me” sound out words I was writing. This provided him with practice on forming ideas, and problem solving word-decoding without the added stress of letter formation (which he struggled with heavily).
