Throughout my time as a social work major, I’ve met amazing people who are incredibly devoted. Not just to their work either, but to the dreams and desires to help others around them in our world. This assignment has really taught me that I seek to be a leader that others can trust with both their time and their hard work. I want to be able to help my peers reach their goals and make the changes that they want to see in our world. As I dive into mental health I hope that my research will not only help to provide clearer answers for behaviors of clients, but also help to influence change as these issues are brought front and center.
This assignment has also taught me that different people have vastly different leadership styles when it comes to working with people. While leadership may be a bit more concrete in a business setting, there are multiple different ways that people can lead when it comes to social work. This is mainly due to the wide variety of jobs and fields that we as social workers tend to as we go out into the workforce. Thankfully though, this is why we have teams made up of different people who are each capable of handling different situations.
