A blog/site owner has the ability to control and assign specific roles to other users. There are five predefined Roles: Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor and Subscriber. Administrator has access to all the administration features. Editor can publish and manage posts and pages as well as manage other users’ posts, etc. Author can publish and manage his/her own posts. Contributor can write and manage his/her posts but not publish them. Subscriber can only manage his/her profile in the blog.
More detailed information about this is available from WordPress.

Can a person who is not a student of Longwood University, gain access to the blog, through invitation from a blog Administrator, in order to help keep the website updated?
That is to say, if someone I knew personally wanted to publish blog posts on my Longwood blog, that I was an Administrator for, but was not a student of Longwood University, would they be able to?
Taylor, we currently don’t offer logins to non-Longwood users. However, you could syndicate a feed of your friend’s posts from another blog through the Feedwordpress plugin and have them automatically posted to your own blog.
