French 210

Reflection

French 210 was one of the easiest classes I took at Longwood. I had an amazing french teacher in high school and I had already taken college level french. This course helped solidify my french even more. I am not really if I gained any skills and rather than the class just solidified the ones I had already possessed, for example my speaking and writing skills. I found out that brushing up on a topic you already know so much about can be helpful. I think personally I really enjoyed learning about the different cultures and that’s the artifact that I included. The artifact was from one of the discussion boards we did that compared how the US and the French healthcare systems.

  • Healthcare and being healthy means a lot to me. As a biology major who is on the track of going into the medical field I know how important it is to remain healthy and keep a healthy lifestyle. How I access healthcare is through going to the doctors and also through pharmacies, etc. To me I think beauty and skincare products are apart of health care because they are helping take care apart of your body, which keeps you healthy. The French consult through a pharmacy for minor issues or for major issues they contact Le Samu. The American equvialent to Le Samu is the emergency room or urgent care. The french also seem to use more alternative medicines than what we do in America as seen on pages 404-405.In America it’s not as popular.
