Theatre 101 – Issues in Theatre, Fall 2017

Under the direction of the always vibrant and passionate Dr. Howieson, I gained a deeper appreciation for theatre during this course. I became familiar with several theatre terms and techniques that I had never heard of before when studying theatre in the past. It was refreshing to read a play in a theatre class rather than reading one in a high school English class. I also got a glimpse of what the theatre department can do when Dr. Howieson had the class attend two of the Longwood plays during the fall semester. Overall, Dr. Howieson opened me and my classmates up to a different side of theatre and allowed us to appreciate what it takes to make a story come to life on stage.
