I took this course in my second semester of freshman year at Longwood. In this class we focused on how to make our writings better. So in order to do this we would read others work and writings about certain writing techniques that were needed to achieve a good paper. In class we would reflect on these techniques and passages given as home work to better understand them. In the class we were to write two big papers. The first one was a research persuasive essay and the second a personal essay. Each were to be 6 pages long though he cared more about quality then length so we could write a little less if we couldn’t write more. My most successful essay though would have to be the persuasive research essay. In this essay I wrote about something I have a passion for and that is makeup. I wanted to let my audience know that wearing makeup isn’t a bad thing to do if you want to do it and also that people shouldn’t be ashamed of wearing it and loving it. My teacher let me write my paper in a journalistic way which was cool because I wanted to show pictures of makeup looks and the art of it as well as influencers. I was also nervous writing papers during this because I tend to believe I suck at writing but when I finished this paper I felt that I actually wrote something good for once. I ended up getting a B- on the paper which I was very proud of. In the paper I’m about to show you it shows that I used what was taught to the best of my abilities and hope you will to find it inspiring like I hoped it to come out like.
