Human Growth and Development (Education 245)

Human Growth and Development was a very interesting class for me. The main goal of the course was to explain the physical, cognitive and social-emotional development of human beings as they are influenced by political, social and economic institutions.I also learned about hereditary and environmental influences in the life span with specific emphasis on prenatal through adolescence development. This course was held for two hours and forty five minutes once a week, so each week we would cover a chapter or two. My professors style of teaching was to write all of the information on powerpoint slides and read from that while implementing short videos to help students grasp the material even more. We also had papers throughout the semester which proved our ability in learning the material at hand. One of our papers was a multi-stage project in which students will apply what they are reading and learning about Human Growth and Development to actual individuals. The project imvolved interviewing three individuals in three different age ranges. I chose to interview my brothers and a neighbor. I think that this course was important to take for my Nursing Major; however, I think the material could have been covered much more efficiently.

Artifact:

My artifact is my three ages paper which shows my cumulative understanding of the course as a whole.
