Honors: HONS 295
This course, taught by Dr. Blinco, was very eye opening. Throughout the course, we discussed the various ties between love, sex, and friendship (as indicated by the course title) and our modern experiences in life. Looking back, this course provided me with a lot of interesting viewpoints, specifically on love and friendship, and how the two can intertwine and how beautiful each could be. Below is one of the first papers I had written for the course, and perhaps one that I am most proud of. The particular unit highlighted love, and my paper was written to portray the views of, in my opinion, the most compelling character in Plato’s Symposium. In hindsight, I would like to go back into the novel and try to re-read it for a more in-depth assessment of each characters, since I do remember feeling somewhat lost at times throughout the novel.
