A passion for teaching and a passion for working with children has always been a driving force in my life. Through my jobs as a youth counselor and as a teacher’s assistant, I have gained many skills in organization, management, and working with children of varying ages and ability.
My experiences at Lutheridge demonstrate my ability to be efficient and flexible. It also highlights my ability to lead worship services, formal and informal. For example, as a counselor we are expected to lead at least two vespers (evening worship) for our cabin each week as well as lead a morning watch (morning worship) for an area, which is usually a group of six to ten cabins.
As a teacher’s assistant at Brighter Day Care, I worked with children of varying disabilities, physical and mental. I am more than comfortable to work with children of any ability and their families. I have helped the lead teacher create and enforce behavior management plans for students.
