HONS 295 was essentially the linked course between SOC-101 and MATH-171. Undoubtedly, HONS 295 was one of my absolute favorite courses to take! Its foundation revolved around Farmville’s history and the Prince Edward County school closings. The basis of the course was to determine if the school closing were still influencing the Farmville community today. Our project aimed to find a correlation between higher education and poverty. Although no correlation was found our project did lay the groundwork for future research.
