I did my rhetorical analysis on the speech that President Barrack Obama gave in response to the Boston Marathon bombing. In this speech, I identified the audience, message, and context along with how he used pathos, ethos, and logos to appeal to the audience. This related to the course outcomes because I had to investigate multiple perspectives on important public issues such as the Boston bombing by inferring how ethos, pathos, and logos made the audience feel and understand the speech given by President Obama. I learned from writing this paper that when giving a speech, it is crucial to understand how you are going to use the different appeals to enhance your credibility along with making the audience feel various emotions and logic.
