I also have experience presenting grant proposals to official boards. For example, presented a proposal to the Longwood Parents Association for a amount of money that I had determined through budgeting. I used a powerpoint to plead my case and eventually was granted the money for my project.

Relevant College Courses I have taken would include;

Advanced Media Writing– In this class I learned how to interview sources, write different kinds of news stories and be a successful journalist. I wrote several investigative pieces for this class as well as a Feature Article. Through interactive lessons and in depth assignments this class taught me to be a better writer.

Public Speaking– This class taught me how to use dialect and tone to persuade an audience. In this class my peers and I learned different ways to speak clearly and to get our point across to an audience effectively.

Theatre-In this class we learned basic introduction to theatre lessons, however one specific assignment taught me how to write scripts and how certain story lines are targeted for different audiences. I had the opportunity to write a play for this class which was a new kind of writing that I had never done before.

Contemporary Practices In Comm-This class has taught me how to portray myself as a professional and create a personal brand. In addition to learning how to have  a successful interview I learned basic knowledge about the workplace that I had not considered before.

Intro to Media Writing- This class taught me the basics of media writing. It taught me about different kinds of news writing and how to come up with a ”beat”.
