Service

I had the opportunity to visit Hull Springs Farm with the Honors college to keep the grounds clean, and help a local church with yard work. It was an amazing experience that let me get closer to my fellow honors students as well as help people in the community.

I also had the opportunity to work at the SPCA to help them raise money during a major event they put on. The students there were tasked with making doggie ornaments to sell, getting people to vote on cats or dogs, walking dogs, and signing people in. The dog I walked was named kickstand, and I found out he has been adopted since the event!

In the following years I have had the privilege of helping to plan and execute the Southside SPCA’s annual fall open house fundraiser. I also have had the chance to serve as the volunteer event photographer for the Gloucester Boys and Girls Club annual Flounder Fishing Tournament. Lastly I have had the amazing opportunity to volunteer at Lancer for a Day the past two years. This is a program put on by Dr. Hastings where fourth graders from the Prince Edward County schools come to Longwood and live the life of a college student for a day.
