This semester I have had the amazing opportunity becoming Longwood’s Public Relations Student Society of America’s president. With that time, I have been fortunate enough to attend regional and national conferences. Not only has this experience taught me more about the art of public relations, but it has also lead me to many wonderful connections and new thought processes.

The PRSSA mission of, “enhancing education, broadening professional, and helping launch careers,” has been one that is clear in each event that I have attended. Through this experience, I have grown confident socializing in a professional environment and making wonderful connections.  It led me to other public relations students who are in the same position as me, and clearly love it as much as I do. PRSSA has solidified my passion for this field and has been one of the greatest learning experiences of my college career. My duties in the club have helped me gain a good understanding of how to effectively manage time, and be an effective leader.

As the president of our PRSSA, I am responsible for duties such as:

Working with my exec board effectively in order to boost interest in the club, be part brainstorming sessions for possible, workshops, campaigns, and events the club is interested in possibly pursuing,  serve as the main point of contact for interested members, partners, etc, and attending conferences and luncheons, using it as an opportunity to connect with other PRSSA members.
