Hi, my name is Sydney and I’m a sophomore here at Longwood! I’m majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and hope to become a speech therapist!
In terms of my career path, as of right now I’d like to go to graduate school and become a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and potentially work with children through a school-system as their speech therapist. I love working with kids and love helping people, so through my major, it’s like combining the two!
Here at Longwood, I’m a member of the National Student Speech Hearing Language Association, where we work to advocate for individuals who face challenges in their speech, hearing, or communication skills. I’m a Peer Mentor for incoming students, where I help new freshman transition from high school into college. I’m also a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma, where I co-manage our website and social medias. In the next few years here, I hope to become even more involved and hold more leadership positions!
