This formal report is the culmination of many hours of collaboration between my partners and I, as we learned how to compose a large-scale professional document. More than any other assignment, this report truly encompasses all of the intended learning outcomes for the course. We were challenged to produce a variety of pieces to the report, each with their own set of formatting and design rules. The ability to write using Plain English and the eight Cs was also heavily tested, as we had to consistently apply these principles over a large amount of content. It was also a beneficial experience to take the materials we had written and turn them into an oral presentation, as I have always struggled with public speaking. However, I believe that the process of creating all of the content gave me the opportunity to become very familiar with the topic and comfortable with communicate those ideas to the class. Finally, the most beneficial aspect of this assignment by far was the ability to collaborate in a group setting. We played to each other’s strengths in order to produce the best quality work that we were capable of. For example, I have tendency to ramble in my writing. I had my partners look over my writing to suggests ways in which I could simplify the information I was trying to communicate.
