Pearson’s Correlation

For a correlation to occur both the independent and dependent variable needs to be interval/ratio.  My independent variable was v17 “how willing would you be to do family fun activities like this one in the future?” My dependent variable was v6 “how much did you assist your child in this activity” The correlation between both variables was (–0.86) which is a strong negative correlation. Therefore, the less time assisting the child on the activity the more willing respondents were to do more family fun activities in the future.
