During our retreat to the northern neck our class observed various artifacts from Dr. Jordan’s collection as well as learning about the culture that surrounds the area. For example, the picture above is a shard of pottery with what appears to be a blue design depicting a Chinese garden (they were apparently pretty popular designs during the colonial era. It was a great experience to go on the trip and I made a lot of friends!
