History
The PA profession was created to improve and expand the healthcare world. In the mid 1960s physicians noticed there was a shortage in primary care physicians. To help with this problem, a man by the name of Eugene Stead Jr., of Duke University Medical Center, put together the first class of PAs in 1965. The Physician Assistant career branched off of nursing or the biology career choice.
