History 

Occupational Therapy started in 1917 with the founding of society for the Promotion of Occupational Therapy. They treat ill, injured, or disabled patients through therapeutic use of everyday activities.

Academic  

All Occupational Therapists have to have a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. In addition, all states require OTs to be licensed. You have to pass grad school before taking this test. Then you have to apply to take the NBCOT certification. Then you apply to get your license and pay a fee.

Job setting

Over half of Occupational Therapists work in offices of occupational therapy or in hospitals. You can also work in schools, nursing homes, and home health services.They spend most of their day on their feet.

The average salary for an OT is $80,150 per year.
