Professional Profile

Hi, my name is Alyssa Hazlegrove! I am currently a senior Communication Sciences and Disorders major with a minor in Special Education at Longwood University.  I will graduate in May 2018.  I plan to continue attending Longwood University in the fall for the graduate program in Speech Pathology to pursue a master’s degree.  I am currently involved in the Longwood student Ambassadors, Kappa Delta Pi Honor’s Society, The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as a worship leader.  I enjoy spending my time interacting with people. Over the past few years, I have worked as a summer camp counselor for young children and the special needs population. My experiences have helped to develop my love for people and communication in general.

ePortfolio Purpose and Content

My Portfolio serves the purpose of displaying my assignments from English 470 which I took during the spring semester of 2018.  I have accomplished all of the course outcomes over the course of the semester and am still working to extend the outcomes to my daily professional life.  In English 470, we have completed many formal assignments to further our understanding of professional writing with the goal of being able to apply the information learned after college.  Each assignment in this course has furthered my professional communication skills and my ability to write in a professional manner.
