In August of 2018 during the honors retreat, we participated in a community service activity. My group worked with the Virginia Clean Waterways and cleaned trash off the side of the road and in the creek. It was a very interesting experience because we learned how much Longwood and Farmville litter.
Later in October of 2018, I participated in a 5k where the money was going to breast cancer research. This was through a sorority on campus ZTA. This experience was very enlighting because survivors came out and spoke and told us their story and it really opened my eyes to the cause.
In April of 2019, my field hockey team and I went and volunteered at Faces. This was the first time I have ever done that before and it was actually really cool. We put bags together for people and just helped the people running it move some stuff but it was actually a good bonding thing for our team.
