Life Stem Seminar 2 challenged me to think in a way I was not used to. When thinking of topics for scientific presentations, usually it is picking a topic and conducting research on what is going on in that field. However, the main idea of this class was to take two topics and combine them to form a scientific synthesis. Personally, this was extremely challenging as I had never done something like this before. Over the course of the semester, I was able to slowly figure out what was needed for a good scientific synthesis. We would also receive feedback from everyone in the class on every presentation. This was a major boon for future presentations as I was able to hear what worked, what didn’t, and what I needed to change in order to form a correct synthesis.
The artifact I have chosen is the final synthesis that I crafted. I feel that this presentation shows the culmination of my learnings throughout the semester.
