Part-Time: Fall 2022 & Spring 2023
The Call Me MISTER (CMM) program is a highly acclaimed initiative aimed at increasing the representation of males, particularly minority males, in the teaching profession. CMM has been in existence at Longwood University (LU) since 2008. The program helps address the critical shortage of minority male teachers in Virginia K-12 schools. Program participants are often from underserved, socio-economically disadvantaged and educationally at-risk communities themselves, and many will return to these communities to teach, while also serving as role-models and mentors.
The Call Me MISTER (CMM) Graduate Assistant will assist with the following aspects of the program:
1. Admission and selection of students in the CMM program
2. Information on financial aid procedures, scholarships, and deadlines
3. Program enrollment and support
