Flourishing Together is a course rooted in philosophy, specifically Aristotelian virtue ethics. We studied and discussed what it means to live a good human life and what the composite parts of this are. Humans are social creatures and we are often enmeshed with others and make commitments with others. Because of this, if each individual pursued their own flourishing, it would coincide with the flourishing of the community and society at large. As a class, we worked together to create, execute, and present a project that would ultimately benefit our community by giving leftover food from the campus dining locations, that would otherwise be wasted, to people that are in need of free hot meals.
