  1. It’s a great example of gendered speech patterns. In our textbook, Julia T. Wood discusses that men generally won’t talk about a problem in the relationship unless there is a problem that needs to be fixed, and women talk about the relationship just because women want to. Then, it’s no surprise, that women think that men don’t listen to them when they walk. Which is not true, men just see a clear solution which streamlines the process of talking about the relationship.
    Love the video!

  2. That video is hilarious! It definitely expresses the difference between how females express problems and how males want to fix problems. Typically the feminine style of expressing problems is by being sympathetic and empathetic. We want someone to agree about how terrible our problem is. We don’t want someone to give us advice on how to help. Whereas males typically want to help by giving us ways to help solve our problem. I also get mad at my boyfriend when he tries to give me solutions even though I know he is just trying to help. Most of the time I just want to yell stop giving advice just say yes babe I understand you’re completely right, that is horrible.
